Connect to your body - release toxic patterns
A renewed connection to your body can start in your mind.
As a recovering people-pleaser and over-thinker, starting with my mind or logic for a solution feels comforting. I found it to be a way to appease my people-pleaer, over thinker pattern that I’m trying to free myself from.
By doing that, my mind calms. I kindly, yet deceptively, let her think she’s in charge! Haha!
Cultivating joy, love and self compassion for your body allows you to hear the quiet inner wisdom of your body - your intuition.
It all starts with awareness of your body. So, take a break right now…..
Yes, you can do it!
For 2 minutes. (Set a timer if you need to)….
Close your eyes and ask yourself: How does my body feel right now? And listen.
If you hear your brain tell you all the things like - your late for xyz, you should be doing abc, then take a deep breath, big exhale….and ask… and listen again.
What do you feel in your body? Is there tightness? A constriction? Tension? Pleasure? Worry?
Where in your body do you feel this? Your chest? Low back? head? Leg?
Learning how your body speaks to you and where you feel it is the awareness of yourself. This is the first and I think the most powerful move you can make. Because without awareness, you cannot make any changes to free yourself from unhealthy or toxic patterns that have accumulated.
And I know, deep in my body, that if you want to free yourself from these patterns you can!
So today, feel your body. Then decide on one thing you can do today that will help your body feel loved, calmed, soothed, relaxed, rested or energized.
Maybe it’s extra sleep tonight, a salt bath, a walk in the woods (without headphones in), a long hot shower, nourishing food, reading a good book, talking deeply with a trusted friend, sitting quietly, fresh crisp air on your face.
You are 1000% deserving of all the joy and pleasure in your body and in life. You don’t have to settle for mediocre. You an unravel the unhealthy pattern and replace it with patterns that serve you. I believe in you!
Nourishing food, Pilates and Reiki are the ways I’ve seen women repeatedly find understanding and compassion and resillence in their body.
