Are You Connected?
Have we lost our connection? I see women (and men) who have lost the connection to their body. Until I started Pilates (over 15 years ago), I thought connection to my thinking was more important than connecting to my body. Um….wrong! (*Smile*)
As humans we have the amazing gift of complex thinking. And we use it.. A LOT.
I think a lot. My mind is very active. Sometimes so I active that I’m over-thinking, over-doing and what happens is I end up feeling stress in my mind and body which feels like stuckness, stiffness and tension and worry.
As a collective many have lost the connection to their self healing capabilities. And the belief that such healing is even possible.
Healing has been outsourced. But you have to ask yourself…. Is that external source focused on your best interest? Your uniqueness?
There will always be the next new thing or quick fix. The only way back to connection and healing is not chasing that thing or staying in the old stuck pattern trying to push and force you way out.
You have to stop. Just stop. Even if it’s just for 5 minutes.
Stop. Breathe. Connect to yourself. And start to ask - how do I feel? What do I need? And keep breathing and listening. Breathe slowly to quiet your nervous system. Because the voice of our intuition “speaks” softly.
Do you already have the tool of resource to meet this need you have? Yes? Then you have enough for this very moment. Use it and begin the work from within.
The trap we can fall into - I know I have - is that we think we don’t have enough resources, tools, etc. What we really think subconsciously is ‘we are not enough’.
But the piece we might be missing is the trust within ourselves. Healing the conditioned belief that the missing piece is outside of you. When in fact it’s deep within. Connecting inside our body will reveal the wisdom that lays within you - your intuition.
The habits and patterns that our body has are clues to what our authentic self may need to release instead of adding more.
Does your body feel stuck, stiff, rigid? Ask yourself: where am I holding onto anger, frustration, sadness? Where am I controlling and forcing? Am I trying to be someone I think I should be?
Does your body feel loose and uncomfortable? Like your skin is the wrong size? Ask yourself: where have I given my inner strength (power) over to someone or something else? Do I really trust myself?
You can build up harmony and balance in your body. It comes from changing and updating your habits, becoming aware of your patterns. And the secret is putting that on repeat!
Your body can be your compass and greatest teacher. Pilates and Reiki are tools that will support you to a deeper connection to your body. In your own way. Unique to you. So, you can release stress, tension and stuckness in your body and life. You have the ability to release the stress and uncover your vibrancy.
